When we arrived at this early years setting it was typical of so many others ….. it was a great space with huge potential but very open and empty with no interesting features.
We focussed on making this ordinary road the busy central hub for this area ….full of role-play possibilities and shared play. It’s been a car wash, petrol station, Pizza Hut, police station, shopping centre …. it’s been used in endless ways and perfectly compliments the space. Giving children the choice whether to join the rat race that is this metropolis or seek quiet comforts away from the city centre.
This project also included a treetop split level play den with interlinking tube and a lovely planted walkway that creates definition between areas in a soft and beautiful way.
